Delicious shrimp tacos bursting with flavor and perfect for busy evenings or laid-back weekends. Easy to assemble and a hit at any gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
- In a bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss the shrimp in this spice mix until evenly coated.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of olive oil once hot.
- Place the seasoned shrimp in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
- Warm the tortillas in a separate pan or microwave.
- Assemble each taco by placing a few shrimp on a tortilla and topping with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, and cilantro.
- Serve with lime wedges for an extra burst of flavor.
Notes
For optimal flavor, consider marinating the shrimp for 30 minutes in the spice mix. Warming tortillas in a damp paper towel helps keep them soft.
