Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sushi-grade tuna, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
  • 4 tostada shells
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1-2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
  • 1 tablespoon adobo sauce from the can
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: avocado slices, pickled red onion, cilantro leaves


Instructions

  1. Finely dice the sushi-grade tuna into small, uniform pieces.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and lime juice to create the marinade.
  3. Add the diced tuna to the marinade, gently tossing to coat.
  4. Stir in the thinly sliced green onion and toasted sesame seeds.
  5. Season the tuna tartare with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with minced chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, and lime juice until well combined.
  8. Ensure the tostada shells are crispy by baking them in a preheated oven at 350°F for a few minutes if needed.
  9. Spread the chipotle mayonnaise generously over each tostada shell.
  10. Spoon the marinated tuna tartare over the chipotle mayonnaise, piling it high for an impressive presentation.
  11. Garnish with optional toppings like avocado slices, pickled red onion, or cilantro leaves.
  12. Serve the tuna tartare tostadas right away.

Use high-quality sushi-grade tuna for the best flavor. Adjust the spiciness of the chipotle mayonnaise to your liking.
