Ingredients
- 1 pound sushi-grade tuna, finely diced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
- 4 tostada shells
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1-2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
- 1 tablespoon adobo sauce from the can
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: avocado slices, pickled red onion, cilantro leaves
Instructions
- Finely dice the sushi-grade tuna into small, uniform pieces.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and lime juice to create the marinade.
- Add the diced tuna to the marinade, gently tossing to coat.
- Stir in the thinly sliced green onion and toasted sesame seeds.
- Season the tuna tartare with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with minced chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, and lime juice until well combined.
- Ensure the tostada shells are crispy by baking them in a preheated oven at 350°F for a few minutes if needed.
- Spread the chipotle mayonnaise generously over each tostada shell.
- Spoon the marinated tuna tartare over the chipotle mayonnaise, piling it high for an impressive presentation.
- Garnish with optional toppings like avocado slices, pickled red onion, or cilantro leaves.
- Serve the tuna tartare tostadas right away.
