Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh tuna steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1 cup mixed greens
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Cayenne pepper to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the tuna steaks dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard to create the creamy garlic sauce. Mix until smooth and creamy, adjusting seasoning as necessary.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned tuna steaks and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish.
- While the tuna rests, toss the salad ingredients (cherry tomatoes, cucumber, mixed greens, and avocado) in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Slice the rested tuna steaks and serve them on a bed of salad, drizzling the creamy garlic sauce on top or serving it on the side.
Notes
For best results, use high-quality, fresh tuna and allow it to rest after cooking for optimal juiciness.
