Description

Luxurious yet accessible, these tuna steaks are paired with a tangy creamy garlic sauce for a delightful meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh tuna steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup mixed greens
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Cayenne pepper to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard to create the creamy garlic sauce. Mix until smooth and creamy, adjusting seasoning as necessary.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned tuna steaks and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish.
  4. While the tuna rests, toss the salad ingredients (cherry tomatoes, cucumber, mixed greens, and avocado) in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Slice the rested tuna steaks and serve them on a bed of salad, drizzling the creamy garlic sauce on top or serving it on the side.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality, fresh tuna and allow it to rest after cooking for optimal juiciness.
