Description

A beautifully cooked tuna steak topped with creamy avocado salsa, bringing together fresh and indulgent flavors for a perfect meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh tuna steaks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional)
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat, adding olive oil if necessary.
  2. Pat the tuna steaks dry and season with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Place the tuna steaks in the hot pan, searing for 1–2 minutes per side for rare, adjusting the time for desired doneness.
  4. Remove the steaks from heat and let them rest before slicing against the grain.
  5. Prepare the avocado salsa by combining diced avocado, red onion, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice, and jalapeño in a bowl.
  6. Serve the sliced tuna steaks topped with avocado salsa and lime wedges.

Notes

Try marinating the tuna in olive oil, salt, and garlic powder for 30 minutes for extra flavor.
