Description
A comforting tuna melt sandwich with creamy tuna salad, melted cheese, and crispy bread, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 can of tuna, drained
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 2 slices of bread
- 2 slices of Colby Jack cheese
- Butter for grilling
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the drained tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, diced celery, and red onion until well combined.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the cheese, followed by the tuna mixture, and then the remaining cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, unbuttered side up.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side, pressing down gently.
- Once the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted, remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.
Notes
Use a non-stick skillet for best results. Consider different breads and cheese options for variation.
