Description

A delightful dish that combines the mild flavor of tilapia with a creamy lemon sauce, offering a perfect balance of richness and zest.

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets of tilapia
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Zest and juice of one lemon
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Begin by seasoning the tilapia fillets evenly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the tilapia fillets to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Transfer the cooked fillets to a plate and reduce the heat to medium.
  5. Melt the butter in the same skillet, then add the chopped shallot.
  6. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until translucent, then stir in the minced garlic.
  7. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly.
  8. Whisk in the lemon zest and juice, allowing the sauce to simmer for 2–3 minutes until it slightly thickens.
  9. Return the cooked tilapia to the skillet, spooning the luscious sauce over each fillet.
  10. Warm the fish for 1–2 minutes and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider a dash of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper to the sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
