Description

A quick and flavorful steak and shrimp stir fry, packed with colorful vegetables and aromatic seasonings, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot (julienned)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak and Shrimp: Combine the flank steak and shrimp in a large bowl. Add the soy sauce and cornstarch. Stir well, ensuring each piece is coated evenly. Let sit while you prepare the vegetables.
  2. Cook the Steak: Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Once the oil is smoking, add the marinated steak. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously, until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if necessary. Once heated, add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. Stir Fry the Vegetables: Toss in the bell pepper, broccoli, carrot, garlic, and ginger. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes until vibrant and tender.
  5. Combine and Serve: Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Ensure to slice the steak against the grain for tenderness and avoid overcooking the shrimp.
