Ingredients
- 12 fresh chicken wing drumettes (12 pieces, 600g)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (2.5 ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 ml)
- 1 tablespoon beef tallow (15g)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (60 ml)
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (10 ml)
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (15 ml)
Instructions
- Set the air fryer to a temperature of 360°F (182°C) to warm up.
- In a bowl, combine the chicken wings with salt and garlic powder, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Arrange the wings in the air fryer’s basket. Cook them for 25 minutes, shaking the basket every 7 to 8 minutes. Once done, switch off the air fryer and let the wings rest in the basket for an additional 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a small pot, melt the beef tallow over medium heat. Add the maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and hot sauce, whisking them into the melted tallow. Allow the mixture to come to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat and let the sauce cool down to thicken.
- Mix the cooked wings with the prepared sauce in a bowl. Keep any leftover sauce aside to serve with the wings.
Notes
- Use olive oil or avocado oil instead of beef tallow for a healthier sauce option.
- Adjust the hot sauce quantity to suit your preferred level of spiciness.
- Coat the chicken wings evenly with salt and garlic powder for optimal flavor.
