Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 ripe avocado
- ½ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed for consistency
- 6 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 cup red cabbage, shredded
- ½ cup carrot, shredded
- 1 small jalapeño, thinly sliced (optional)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Season the shrimp: In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, cayenne, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Make the avocado crema: Blend the avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, garlic, cilantro, and salt until smooth. Adjust the consistency with water as needed. Set aside.
- Cook the shrimp: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the tacos: Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave. Fill each tortilla with cabbage, carrot, shrimp, and jalapeño slices. Drizzle with avocado crema and garnish with fresh cilantro.
- Serve and enjoy: Serve with lime wedges and extra avocado crema on the side.
