Description

Delicious and vibrant spicy shrimp tacos topped with creamy avocado sauce, perfect for family meals or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce (optional toppings)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss well to coat.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque.
  3. In a food processor, add the ripe avocado, lime juice, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Lightly heat the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until warm and pliable.
  5. Take a warm tortilla and add a generous amount of shrimp on the bottom.
  6. Top the shrimp with a dollop of avocado crema.
  7. Finish with fresh cilantro, diced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce if desired. Serve immediately!

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate shrimp in spices before cooking. Serve with a lime squeeze for enhanced freshness.
