Ingredients
- 1 lb. raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Lemon wedges
- Condiments: cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, ranch dressing, honey mustard, or others as desired
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or skillet until it reaches 375°F.
- In a large bowl, combine shrimp with milk, dried oregano, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove shrimp from the milk mixture, letting excess drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture.
- Carefully place shrimp in hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes, turning until golden brown.
- Remove shrimp and drain on a paper towel-lined baking sheet.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges and chosen dipping sauces.

Ensure the oil temperature stays consistent for optimal crispiness. Fry in batches if necessary and consider double-dredging for extra crunch.
