- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne pepper. Mix well to ensure an even distribution of spices.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge each shrimp in the cornmeal mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
