Ingredients
- 3.75 oz. canned smoked oysters, drained
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- Zest of 1 medium lemon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or 1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Fresh cracked black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons capers (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except the capers: the smoked oysters, cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, smoked paprika, and any optional spices like chipotle, cayenne, and salt.
- Use the back of a spoon to smash and stir the oysters into the cream cheese until everything is smoothly combined.
- Gently stir in the capers until they are evenly distributed.
- Transfer the dip to a serving dish and chill it in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
