Ingredients
- 2 lb (907 g) s Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) onion powder
Instructions
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into ¼ inch thick slices using a mandolin or sharp knife.
- Place the potato slices in a medium-sized bowl, cover them with cold water, and let them soak for 15-30 minutes. Afterward, drain and pat the slices dry with paper towels to enhance their crispiness.
- Return the dried potato slices to the bowl, then drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until the slices are well coated.
- Arrange half of the potato slices at the base of a 7-quart or larger air fryer basket.
- Air fry the slices at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, making sure to shake the basket every 5 minutes. After 12 minutes, check if they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, while tender inside.
- Once cooked, transfer the potato slices to a serving plate or baking sheet. Enjoy immediately or keep them warm. Repeat the process with the remaining potato slices.
- Serve right away with dill aioli or your preferred dipping sauce.
Notes
- Soak potato slices in cold water to remove excess starch for a crispier texture. Pat dry before coating with olive oil and seasonings. Shake air fryer basket every 5 minutes for even cooking and crispiness. Serve immediately for best crispiness.
