A comforting dish of pasta, shrimp, and creamy sauce topped with melted cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the shrimp, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook until the shrimp are pink and cooked through, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and combined.
- Combine the pasta, shrimp mixture, and half of the mozzarella cheese; mix well.
- Pour the pasta mixture into a baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
Consider adding lemon zest or juice for a brighter flavor. Make sure to toss the pasta mixture well before baking for even flavor distribution.
