Description

A comforting Shrimp & Lobster Biscuit Pot Pie with creamy seafood filling and buttery biscuits, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter (or olive oil for a lighter option)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (or garlic powder in a pinch)
  • 1 medium Onion (or shallots for a milder flavor)
  • 1 cup Celery (optional)
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour (gluten-free flour blend if needed)
  • 2 cups Seafood or Chicken Stock (vegetable stock for vegetarian)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 2 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning (seafood seasoning blend as an alternative)
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 lb Uncooked Shrimp
  • 1 cup Cooked Lobster Meat (crab as a substitute)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (or chives, if parsley is unavailable)
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (or whole wheat flour for health)
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (fresh garlic for deeper taste)
  • 4 tbsp Cold Butter, Grated (or margarine for dairy-free)
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (dairy-free option if desired)
  • 3/4 cup Whole Milk (non-dairy milk for lactose-free)
  • Optional Fresh Chives or Parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt 4 tbsp of unsalted butter over medium heat in a large skillet or pot. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until translucent.
  2. Add the celery (if using) and sauté for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle in the flour and mix well, cooking for another minute to eliminate the raw flavor.
  4. Gradually add the seafood stock while stirring, allowing it to thicken.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, Old Bay seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add the uncooked shrimp and cooked lobster meat, stirring gently to combine.
  7. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly while you prepare the biscuit topping.
  8. Combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  9. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the cheese.
  10. Gradually add the whole milk, mixing until just combined.
  11. Pour the filling into a baking dish and drop spoonfuls of biscuit dough over the top.
  12. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
  13. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter option, use olive oil instead of butter and half-and-half in place of heavy cream. You can also experiment with different seafood or add vegetables for extra flavor.
