Description

A classic shrimp boil perfect for summer gatherings, combining shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage with flavorful Old Bay seasoning.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, deveined
  • 2 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 1 pound small potatoes, halved
  • 1/2 pound andouille sausage, cut into chunks
  • 4 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lemons, halved
  • Water
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the shrimp and vegetables thoroughly, adding a generous amount of salt and 4 tablespoons of Old Bay seasoning.
  2. Bring the pot to a boil, then add the halved potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the corn and sausage to the pot and cook for 5 more minutes.
  4. Introduce the shrimp and minced garlic, cooking until the shrimp turn a beautiful pink (about 3 to 5 minutes).
  5. Squeeze in lemon juice, toss everything together, then drain the pot.
  6. Serve on a large platter with additional lemon wedges.

Notes

For added flavor, consider including other vegetables such as bell peppers or onions. Serve with a dipping sauce like cocktail sauce or spicy remoulade if desired.
