Description

Crispy and flavorful shrimp balls, perfect as an appetizer or main dish, bringing friends and family together over the joy of cooking and sharing meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¼ cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for binding)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the shrimp into small pieces.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, green onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.
  3. If the mixture feels loose, optionally add cornstarch for binding.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the shrimp balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

For variations, consider using different herbs, spices, or vegetables to tailor the flavor profile to your liking.
