Description

A comforting dish featuring succulent shrimp served over creamy grits, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup grits
  • 4 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring water or chicken broth to a boil.
  2. Add grits and reduce heat to low.
  3. Stir occasionally until thickened, about 20-25 minutes.
  4. Once the grits are cooked, stir in butter and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  6. Add minced garlic and shrimp, cooking until shrimp are pink and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Stir in paprika and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve shrimp over a bed of cheesy grits and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Adjust seasoning as desired. To enhance presentation, drizzle with olive oil or sprinkle extra spices.
