Description

A deliciously simple dish featuring ahi tuna steaks coated in crunchy sesame seeds served with a zesty soy ginger lime sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 ahi tuna steaks
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, grated ginger, lime juice, and olive oil.
  2. Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and pepper, then press both sides into the sesame seeds to coat.
  3. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a little olive oil. Sear the tuna steaks for about 1-2 minutes on each side, depending on the desired doneness.
  4. For the pickled cucumbers, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and sliced cucumbers in a bowl. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Serve the sesame crusted ahi tuna with the soy ginger lime sauce drizzled on top and pickled cucumbers on the side.

Notes

Experiment with different seeds for the coating and consider toasting the sesame seeds for enhanced flavor.
