Description

A perfectly seasoned salmon recipe that combines flavorful spices with a luxurious lemon butter topping, creating an extraordinary dish for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter, ghee, olive oil, or avocado oil
  • 4 (6-ounce) skin-on salmon filets
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter, ghee, or avocado oil (for drenching)
  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, ground cumin, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture over each salmon filet.
  4. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat your choice of oil and sear the salmon filets skin-side down for about 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip the filets and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the salmon filets, allowing it to soak into the flesh, then transfer the skillet to the oven.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix together additional melted butter, lemon juice, and chopped parsley to create the topping.
  8. Serve the salmon hot, topped with the lemon butter sauce.

Notes

For best results, let the salmon marinate in the spice rub for 15-30 minutes before cooking. Ensure a crispy skin by flipping the salmon only once during cooking.
