Description

A simple yet sophisticated Japanese-inspired dish featuring perfectly seared sashimi-grade ahi tuna, complemented by sesame seeds and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

  • 2 Sashimi grade ahi tuna steaks
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Fresh herbs (cilantro, green onions)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  2. Season the ahi tuna with salt and pepper on all sides.
  3. Coat the tuna with sesame seeds, pressing them in gently.
  4. Place the tuna in the heated skillet and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or cook longer for desired doneness.
  5. Remove from heat and let it rest for a minute.
  6. Slice the tuna and drizzle with soy sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For best results, use a sharp knife to slice the tuna. Experimenting with herbs can elevate the dish’s flavor.
