Description

Discover how to make crispy and flavorful Salmon Bites with Spicy Mayo in the air fryer. Perfect for a quick and delicious seafood appetizer!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons (22.5 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) Chili Garlic Paste or Sambal Oelek or other spicy paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) toasted sesame oil
  • 1 pound (450 g) beef, cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder
  • 1 – 2 teaspoons (5-10 ml) Aleppo pepper (or any spicy chili powder), more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, rice vinegar, spicy paste, sugar, and toasted sesame oil. Set this mixture aside.
  2. Heat the air fryer to 375ºF.
  3. Pat the beef dry thoroughly. Place the beef pieces into a medium bowl and mix them with 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil, cornstarch, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, and Aleppo pepper. Ensure every piece is evenly coated with the marinade. Arrange the beef in a single layer in the air fryer and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of approximately 130ºF, taking about 4 to 6 minutes. No turning is necessary.
  4. Distribute the cooked rice into 4 separate bowls, place the beef on top, and add your choice of vegetables and garnishes. Pour some of the spicy mayo over the top and serve with lime wedges.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, consider using light mayonnaise or Greek yogurt as a substitute in the spicy mayo sauce.
  • Adjust the amount of spicy paste or chili powder to your taste preference for a spicier dish.
  • For a thicker sauce, mix a bit more cornstarch with water and add it to the spicy mayo mixture before serving.
