Description

Learn how to make delicious Salmon Bites with a sweet and spicy twist using honey and paprika. This easy recipe is perfect for any seafood lover!

Ingredients

  • – 1 pound (454 g) salmon, about 3 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) paprika
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) garlic powder
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) onion powder
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) kosher salt
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper
  • – 1/4 cup (1/2 stick / 57 g) unsalted butter
  • – ½ cup (170 g) maple syrup
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
  • – 3 tablespoons (45 ml) garlic, minced
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) apple cider vinegar
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) red pepper flakes
  • – green onions, for garnish
  • – sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by setting the air fryer to a temperature of 400°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, blend together the extra virgin olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon cubes and gently mix until they are well coated.
  3. Arrange the salmon pieces in a single layer inside the air fryer’s basket. Depending on your air fryer’s capacity, you might need to cook them in multiple rounds. Cook in the air fryer for 7-10 minutes, making sure to shake the basket halfway through, until the salmon’s internal temperature hits 140-145°F.
  4. Once done, move the salmon pieces to a plate and cover them loosely with aluminum foil to retain warmth while you make the sauce.
  5. In a medium-sized pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and add the maple syrup, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir the mixture well.
  6. Allow the sauce to reach a boil, then lower the heat to medium and let it simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until it thickens.
  7. Introduce the cooked salmon to the pan and carefully mix to ensure each piece is covered with the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve right away.

Notes

  • Use high-quality extra virgin olive oil to coat the salmon before air frying for a more flavorful result.
  • Shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking to ensure even crispiness on all sides of the salmon.
  • Adjust the red pepper flakes to your preference to customize the heat level of the maple soy glaze. Garnish with sesame seeds for added texture and nutty flavor.
