Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on), trimmed of excess fat
- 5 ml (1/2 tsp) salt
- 5 ml (1 tsp) smoked paprika
- 5 ml (1 tsp) garlic powder
- 5 ml (1/2 tsp) oregano
- 5 ml (1/2 tsp) onion powder
Instructions
- Set your air fryer to 380°F and let it heat up for 5 minutes. Optionally, apply a light coat of cooking spray.
- Place the chicken thighs into a large resealable plastic bag or a bowl with a secure lid. Add the salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, oregano, and onion powder, then shake well to ensure everything is evenly coated.
- Take the chicken out of the bag and arrange them in the air fryer with the skin facing down. Cook for 12 minutes.
- Flip the chicken thighs so the skin is facing up and continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes. For extra crispiness, extend the cooking time in 4-minute intervals to achieve your preferred texture.
- The chicken thighs are perfectly cooked when a meat thermometer shows an internal temperature of 165°F when placed in the thickest section of the thigh. Note that cooking duration may change based on the size of the thighs and your air fryer’s power. Enjoy your meal.
Notes
- For a spicier flavor, enhance the seasoning mix with a touch of cayenne pepper before coating the chicken thighs.
- Add freshness by including chopped herbs like parsley or thyme in the seasoning mix for a more herby taste.
- Achieve extra crispiness on the chicken skin by thoroughly patting the thighs dry with paper towels before seasoning and air frying.
