Description

A quick and delicious Parmesan crusted baked walleye recipe that transforms tender fish into crispy, flavorful delights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb walleye (2 fillets)
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan, finely grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 lemon, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with foil and spray with non-stick cooking oil or butter.
  2. If the fish is frozen, thaw it completely.
  3. Crack an egg into a shallow bowl and whisk until blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Pat the fillets dry, dip them in the egg wash, coat with the dry mixture, and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle any remaining dry ingredients over the fillets.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes until flaky and golden brown.
  8. Drizzle with lemon juice before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, try substituting some panko with crushed crackers. Ensure even thickness among the fillets for consistent cooking.
