Description

A comforting dish of pasta, shrimp, and Andouille sausage in a creamy Cajun sauce, perfect for celebrating Mardi Gras.

Ingredients

  • Pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)
  • Heavy cream
  • Butter
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Bell peppers (green and red)
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Shrimp
  • Andouille sausage
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Green onions (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Add sliced Andouille sausage and shrimp to the skillet, cooking until the shrimp is pink and cooked through.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and sprinkle in Cajun seasoning, stirring to combine. Allow to simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce, stirring to coat evenly.
  6. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

For an extra kick, increase the amount of Cajun seasoning to taste. Always taste the sauce before serving to adjust seasoning.
