A comforting dish of pasta, shrimp, and Andouille sausage in a creamy Cajun sauce, perfect for celebrating Mardi Gras.
Ingredients
- Pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)
- Heavy cream
- Butter
- Garlic
- Onion
- Bell peppers (green and red)
- Cajun seasoning
- Shrimp
- Andouille sausage
- Parmesan cheese
- Green onions (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add sliced Andouille sausage and shrimp to the skillet, cooking until the shrimp is pink and cooked through.
- Pour in heavy cream and sprinkle in Cajun seasoning, stirring to combine. Allow to simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce, stirring to coat evenly.
- Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
For an extra kick, increase the amount of Cajun seasoning to taste. Always taste the sauce before serving to adjust seasoning.
