Description

A quick and nutritious oven-baked salmon dish with a delightful honey mustard flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb salmon fillets (skin-on if possible)
  • 2.5 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1.5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 0.75 tsp kosher salt (divided)
  • 0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika (or sweet paprika)
  • 0.5 tsp lemon zest (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, 0.5 tsp of kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and lemon zest (if using) in a bowl.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet, skin-side down, and sprinkle with the remaining 0.25 tsp kosher salt.
  4. Spoon the honey mustard marinade over the salmon, ensuring even coverage. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Freshness of salmon is key; always purchase high-quality salmon for the best results.
