Description

A quick and flavorful pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp and zesty Old Bay seasoning, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Grated Parmesan (optional)
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water before draining. Set the pasta aside.
  2. In a bowl, toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning and salt. Drizzle olive oil over the shrimp to coat well.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the shrimp for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Lower the heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, red pepper flakes (if using), the remaining ½ tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, and the reserved pasta water. Mix to create a sauce.
  6. Toss the cooked pasta and seared shrimp into the skillet, mixing until fully coated and warmed through.
  7. Serve topped with chopped parsley, grated Parmesan, and additional lemon slices if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, experiment with seasonal vegetables like cherry tomatoes or spinach.
