Description

A hearty and flavorful Mediterranean fish stew made with fresh white fish, vegetables, and rich broth, perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 sliced carrot
  • 1 tbsp of flour
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 pound of boneless white fish (cod, halibut, or haddock)
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • ½ tsp of smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter and olive oil in a thick-bottomed pot over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and sliced carrot until soft, about 3 minutes.
  2. Stir in the flour, ensuring it combines well, then add the cubed potatoes, cooking for an additional minute.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add the white fish and smoked paprika, covering the pot. Allow it to simmer while stirring occasionally until the potatoes are soft, approximately 15-20 minutes.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Adjust seasoning to taste and consider adding fresh herbs before serving.
