A comforting and sophisticated blend of rich cheeses and fresh lobster over perfectly cooked elbow macaroni, topped with a crispy breadcrumb crust.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
- Whisk in the milk gradually, cooking until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
- Mix in the cooked macaroni and lobster meat.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika if using.
- Pour into a baking dish and top with bread crumbs if desired.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
Notes
For added creaminess, consider mixing in a dollop of cream cheese with the cheddar.
