Description

A simple yet impressive recipe for Lemon Garlic Butter Cod that features beautifully crispy skin and vibrant flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (6 oz each)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides of the fish generously with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and olive oil together until it starts to sizzle.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant and golden.
  5. Carefully place the seasoned cod fillets skin-side down in the skillet.
  6. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Gently flip the fillets, then pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  8. Continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  9. Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and lemon zest.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Using unsalted butter allows better control over seasoning. Fresh parsley adds brightness, and lemon zest is a must for flavor.
