A simple yet impressive recipe for Lemon Garlic Butter Cod that features beautifully crispy skin and vibrant flavors.
Ingredients
- 4 cod fillets (6 oz each)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides of the fish generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and olive oil together until it starts to sizzle.
- Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant and golden.
- Carefully place the seasoned cod fillets skin-side down in the skillet.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
- Gently flip the fillets, then pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and lemon zest.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
Using unsalted butter allows better control over seasoning. Fresh parsley adds brightness, and lemon zest is a must for flavor.
