A delicious sushi roll featuring spicy tempura jalapeño, fresh salmon, and creamy avocado, offering a delightful blend of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
- 1 jalapeño pepper
- 1/4 avocado
- 4 oz fresh salmon
- 2 nori sheets
- 1 1/2 cups seasoned sushi rice
- 2 tbsp Japanese mayo
- 1 cup tempura batter
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Wash and clean the jalapeño pepper. Slice it in half lengthwise to remove the seeds. Slice the jalapeño into thin long strips.
- Cut the avocado and salmon into long sticks. Prepare the cold Japanese tempura batter using the boxed mix.
- Coat and fry the jalapeño until crispy, then set aside.
- Lay out each nori sheet on a bamboo mat. Use about 2/3 of each nori sheet and 3/4 cup of sushi rice for each roll.
- Spread sushi rice evenly across the nori surface and arrange fillings: tempura jalapeño, salmon, avocado, and drizzle with Kewpie mayo.
- Carefully roll the sushi using the bamboo mat, dipping each roll into the tempura batter and deep-frying in hot oil for 1-3 minutes until crispy.
- Let rolls cool on parchment paper before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
Notes
To ensure perfect sushi rolls, use wet hands while spreading sushi rice and maintain balance in ingredient distribution. Experiment with more fillings for personal touch.
