Description

A delightful blend of crispy shrimp coated in a sweet and tangy sauce, topped with crunchy sugar-coated walnuts.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp (shell removed and deveined)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1.5 tablespoons condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Juice of 1/4 lemon (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sugar walnuts by adding walnuts and sugar to a pan and stirring until the sugar melts and coats the walnuts. Pour onto parchment paper and cool.
  2. Mix mayonnaise, condensed milk, honey, and lemon juice in a bowl to create the sauce and set aside.
  3. Coat the shrimp with cornstarch in another bowl.
  4. Whip the egg whites until soft peaks form and fold in the cornstarch-coated shrimp.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Drain the shrimp on paper towels.
  7. Combine the shrimp with the sauce and garnish with the sugar-coated walnuts.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using an air fryer to reduce oil absorption. Ensure shrimp are very fresh for the best flavor.
