Description

A quick and delicious recipe for honey garlic salmon that balances sweetness and savory flavors, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. salmon (cut into 2-3 fillet strips)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 lemon (sliced into wedges)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon’s surface with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Allow it to sit to soak up the flavors.
  2. Mix honey with warm water, apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice), and a pinch of salt in a bowl to create a glaze.
  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add olive oil, then pan-fry the salmon skin side down for 1 minute. Flip the fillets and cook for another minute.
  4. Add minced garlic to the pan, sautéing until browned.
  5. Pour in the honey mixture and add lemon wedges. Cook until the glaze reduces and becomes sticky.
  6. Broil in the oven for one minute until the surface chars slightly for added flavor.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Let the salmon sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking for even cooking. Use fresh garlic for best flavor.
