A delightful Hawaiian dish featuring tender shrimp sautéed in a flavorful garlic, pineapple, and lime sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or special dinner parties.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup fresh pineapple juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and olive oil until it bubbles. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until just starting to turn pink, then flip the shrimp.
- Pour in the pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, ground ginger, and lime juice. Stir well to coat the shrimp in the sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they are opaque.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped cilantro over the shrimp. Serve immediately, garnished with optional pineapple chunks and lime wedges.
Notes
Consider pairing with jasmine rice or quinoa. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
