Description

Delicious grilled tuna steaks coated with sesame seeds and drizzled with a savory sesame soy dressing.

Ingredients

  • 2 ahi fish steaks
  • ¼ cup dark sesame seeds
  • ¼ cup white sesame seeds
  • Oil for grilling
  • ¼ cup soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp garlic paste
  • ½ tsp ginger paste
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic chili oil (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Coat the ahi fish steaks with oil and then press sesame seeds onto both sides.
  3. Grill the tuna steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic paste, ginger paste, lime juice, sesame oil, olive oil, honey, garlic chili oil, and salt to create the sesame soy dressing.
  5. Serve the grilled tuna steaks with the dressing drizzled on top.

Notes

For perfect results, aim for a pink center for medium-rare and consider marinating the fish for extra flavor.
