Description

Experience the flavors of the coast with this grilled octopus recipe, showcasing smoky char and tender meat.

Ingredients

  • 1 octopus (about 2-3 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Clean the octopus and remove the beak and ink sac. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the octopus for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until tender.
  3. Remove the octopus from the pot and let it cool slightly.
  4. Cut the tentacles into manageable pieces.
  5. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Marinate the octopus pieces in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  8. Grill the marinated octopus for about 3-4 minutes on each side until charred.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

Marinating overnight can enhance the flavor. Skewering smaller pieces can prevent them from slipping through the grill grates.
