A simple yet flavorful garlic tilapia dish that’s quick to prepare, making it perfect for any weekday meal.
Ingredients
- 4 tilapia fillets (approximately 150 g each)
- 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika (optional, for color)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon slices for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse and dry tilapia fillets thoroughly with paper towels.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika, if using.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add butter and let it melt.
- Add the chopped garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until golden and fragrant. Remove the garlic and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the tilapia fillets.
- Cook over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Return the garlic to the pan. Pour fresh lemon juice over the filets and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes for flavors to meld.
- Transfer the tilapia to a serving plate, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and garnish with lemon slices if desired.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, consider marinating the fish briefly in olive oil and lemon juice before cooking.
