Description

A quick and flavorful dish featuring juicy shrimp roasted with garlic and Parmesan cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners or elegant appetizers.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced very finely
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt (plus more to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (plus wedges for serving)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a rimmed baking sheet with parchment or foil.
  2. Pat the shrimp very dry with paper towels and transfer them to a mixing bowl.
  3. Add olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, basil, grated Parmesan cheese, kosher salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired) to the bowl.
  4. Toss everything to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the shrimp in a single layer on the baking sheet, leaving a little space between pieces.
  6. Roast the shrimp for 6 to 9 minutes, until they turn pink, opaque, and just firm.
  7. Drizzle immediately with lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley, if using.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Use freshly minced garlic and high-quality Parmesan cheese for the best flavor. Add lemon zest for extra brightness.
