Description

A simple yet flavorful dish featuring tilapia baked in a rich garlic butter sauce with lemon and fresh parsley.


Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for color and mild heat)
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for added richness)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the tilapia fillets dry using paper towels, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Arrange the fillets in a single layer on a lined baking sheet.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, paprika, and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the tilapia fillets.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the tilapia flakes easily with a fork.
  9. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Notes

For added richness, sprinkle some additional Parmesan cheese just before serving.
