Description

A delicious and simple dish featuring fresh cod fillets baked in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about one minute. Stir in lemon juice and remove from heat.
  3. Place the cod fillets in the greased baking dish and pour the garlic butter mixture over them.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For best results, select fresh cod fillets and monitor cooking time to avoid dryness. Serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for added flavor.
