Description
A simple yet sophisticated garlic butter baked cod dish that highlights fresh cod fillets with a rich and zesty sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 fresh cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Grease a baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Stir in the lemon juice and remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Place the cod fillets in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the fillets.
- Season the cod with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For a crisp texture, broil the cod for the last couple of minutes. Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or salad.
