Description

Crispy firecracker shrimp with a perfect balance of spicy sriracha and sweet honey, sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine the sriracha, soy sauce, and honey in a bowl.
  2. Add the shrimp and ensure each piece is thoroughly coated with the marinade.
  3. Allow the shrimp to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Set up your breading station with bowls of flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  5. Start by dredging each shrimp in flour, shaking off any excess.
  6. Dip the floured shrimp into the beaten eggs, letting the excess drip off.
  7. Finally, coat the shrimp in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  8. In a frying pan, heat oil over medium heat.
  9. Fry the shrimp in batches, 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Place the fried shrimp on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  11. Serve the firecracker shrimp hot and enjoy.

Notes

For extra crunch, you can double coat the shrimp in breadcrumbs. Make sure to let the shrimp rest for a minute after frying to maintain crispiness.
