Description

Discover how to make extra crispy air fryer curly fries with this easy recipe. Perfect for a quick and delicious snack or side dish. Try it now!

Ingredients

  • – 1 large russet potato (about 300g)
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) sea salt
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) garlic powder
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) onion powder
  • – 2 teaspoons (10 ml) smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to heat at 205C/425F.
  2. In a small container, combine the sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Put this mixture aside for later.
  3. Use a spiralizer to transform the potato into curly strips and place them in a large bowl. Trim the strips to 6-8 inches in length with scissors to prevent them from tangling and ensure even cooking.
  4. Pour the mixed seasoning over the potato curls, ensuring they are all evenly coated by tossing them gently.
  5. Arrange the seasoned potato spirals on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Bake at 425F for 15 minutes.
  6. Take the tray out of the oven and carefully turn the fries over, rearranging them to give the less cooked ones more exposure. Put them back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
  7. After these 10 minutes, inspect the fries, removing any that are crispy and golden-brown. Place any that are still soft back into the oven for an extra 5-10 minutes.
  8. Let them cool for a short while, then enjoy them on their own or with your preferred dipping sauce!

Notes

  • Trim potato strips to 6-8 inches for even cooking and to prevent tangling.
  • Gently toss potato curls to ensure even coating with the seasoning mixture.
  • Check fries after 15 minutes, remove crispy ones to prevent burning, and allow to cool slightly before serving.
