Description

A simple yet flavorful recipe for grilling octopus, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh octopus
  • Olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Gather all the necessary materials. Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the octopus and bring to a rolling boil.
  2. Carefully place the octopus in the boiling water and cook for about 40 minutes, checking for tenderness.
  3. Remove the octopus from the water, rinse under cold water, and place in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and add the chopped garlic. Let it cool at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Slice the octopus tentacles into manageable pieces.
  5. Grill the tentacles for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a charred exterior.
  6. After grilling, drizzle with more olive oil, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top, and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and parsley.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Allow the octopus to cool fully before marinating for the best flavor infusion.
