Description
A simple yet flavorful recipe for grilling octopus, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh octopus
- Olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
- Juice from 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Gather all the necessary materials. Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the octopus and bring to a rolling boil.
- Carefully place the octopus in the boiling water and cook for about 40 minutes, checking for tenderness.
- Remove the octopus from the water, rinse under cold water, and place in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and add the chopped garlic. Let it cool at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Slice the octopus tentacles into manageable pieces.
- Grill the tentacles for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a charred exterior.
- After grilling, drizzle with more olive oil, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top, and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and parsley.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Allow the octopus to cool fully before marinating for the best flavor infusion.
