Description

Discover how to make delicious Easy Garlic Steak and Potatoes Foil Packets with this simple recipe. Perfect for a quick and tasty meal outdoors!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz (454 g) Small Yukon Potatoes, halved
  • 24 oz (680 g) Beef Sirloin Steak, cut into bite-sized strips
  • 1 Yellow Onion, sliced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Carrot, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp (60 ml) vegetable oil, or as needed
  • steak seasoning, to taste
  • 5 to 6 cloves garlic, chopped

Instructions

  1. Set up an outdoor grill, ideally charcoal, to reach a medium-high temperature.
  2. Place the potatoes in a microwaveable bowl and heat on high until they are just tender, approximately 3 minutes.
  3. Evenly distribute the steak, potatoes, onions, red and green bell peppers, and carrots over 4 to 6 pieces of aluminum foil. Add a tablespoon of butter and some fresh garlic to each portion; fold the foil to seal the packets securely.
  4. Position the foil packets on the grill’s hot area. Grill for 5 minutes. Carefully open one packet to check if the steak is cooked to your preference.
  5. If the steak isn’t done to your liking after 5 minutes, continue grilling, checking every few minutes until it reaches the desired doneness. A thermometer should read 130 degrees F (54 degrees C) for medium rare when inserted into the steak’s center.

Notes

  • Marinate the beef sirloin steak in your favorite steak seasoning before grilling for a more robust flavor.
  • Customize this dish by adding your preferred vegetables or trying different seasonings.
  • Enhance the taste by using hickory or mesquite wood chips on the grill for a smoky flavor.
