Description

Delicious crab melts featuring lump crab meat and Old Bay seasoning for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 6 ounces lump crab meat
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1/8 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 tomato, sliced (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Whisk together lemon juice and mayonnaise until well blended.
  3. Add crab meat to the mixture, blending well.
  4. Stir in Old Bay seasoning, diced celery, diced red onion, chopped parsley, and black pepper until everything is well combined.
  5. Brush one side of two slices of bread with melted butter and place them buttered-side down on a baking sheet.
  6. Top the unbuttered sides with the crab mixture and slices of cheddar cheese.
  7. Place the remaining two slices of bread on top with the buttered sides facing up.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, then carefully flip the sandwiches and bake for another 4 minutes.
  9. Turn the oven to broil and broil for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  10. (Optional) Add fresh tomato slices inside the crab melts immediately before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider using high-quality lump crab meat and adjusting the Old Bay seasoning to your preference.
