Description
Delicious crab melts featuring lump crab meat and Old Bay seasoning for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
- 6 ounces lump crab meat
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 1/8 cup red onion, diced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Black pepper, to taste
- 4 slices of bread
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 tomato, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Whisk together lemon juice and mayonnaise until well blended.
- Add crab meat to the mixture, blending well.
- Stir in Old Bay seasoning, diced celery, diced red onion, chopped parsley, and black pepper until everything is well combined.
- Brush one side of two slices of bread with melted butter and place them buttered-side down on a baking sheet.
- Top the unbuttered sides with the crab mixture and slices of cheddar cheese.
- Place the remaining two slices of bread on top with the buttered sides facing up.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, then carefully flip the sandwiches and bake for another 4 minutes.
- Turn the oven to broil and broil for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
- (Optional) Add fresh tomato slices inside the crab melts immediately before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider using high-quality lump crab meat and adjusting the Old Bay seasoning to your preference.
