Description

Quick and delicious salmon patties made from canned salmon, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (like parsley or dill)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flaked salmon, bread crumbs, chopped onion, fresh herbs, egg, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  2. Form the mixture into patties. Aim for even sizes for uniform cooking.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, place the patties in the skillet.
  4. Fry the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden and crispy. Monitor them to avoid burning.
  5. Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and let them drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in minced garlic or lemon zest. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes before forming patties for best texture.
