Ingredients
- – 1 to 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (can substitute GF flour) (240-360g)
- – 2 tsp baking powder (10 ml)
- – 1 cup high-protein dairy-free yogurt (240 ml)
Instructions
- Set your oven temperature to 375°F and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and high-protein yogurt in a big mixing bowl. Mix them until a rough dough forms. Sprinkle some extra flour on your counter and transfer the dough there. Form the dough into a ball. If it’s too sticky, incorporate more flour, a tablespoon at a time, until it’s easier to handle.
- Cut the dough into four similar-sized portions. Shape each portion into a ball. Use your finger, a chopstick, or a skewer to make a hole in the center of each ball. Gently stretch the hole to about the size of a quarter. Arrange the bagels on your prepared baking tray.
- Optional: To create a glaze for your bagels, mix 2 tablespoons of yogurt with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of water. Use a brush to generously coat the tops of each bagel with this mixture. Sprinkle with your preferred topping.
- Position your bagels on the top shelf of the oven and bake them for 20 minutes. After that, increase the oven temperature to 400°F and continue baking for another 5 to 7 minutes. If you applied the glaze, your bagels will have a golden hue. Without the glaze, they will appear lighter but will still be fully baked. Let them cool for approximately 10 minutes. Relish your 3-ingredient bagels with your favorite spread!
Notes
- For a lighter texture, reduce flour to 1 cup.
- Experiment with various yogurt flavors for a unique taste.
- Customize bagels with toppings like sesame seeds or garlic flakes.
